Pupils from Reception, Year 1 and parents had the opportunity to enjoy the mobile Life Education Centre
which was based at Woodfield for the day. Pupils from Year 1 & Year 2 enjoyed a theatre workshop presented by the Old Rep , Birmingham.


Year 2 visited Pizza Express recently. They were given the opportunity to taste some of the pizza toppings including chillies, sun dried tomatoes and black olives. The chillies were very spicy! The children then made their own pizza and once they were cooked, they were able to take them home for tea. They smelt delicious.
Guess what? They tasted delicious too!
On Wednesday 2nd November we held a Gala Open Evening for parents to see the new facilities of the Junior House at Highclare Woodfield, together with our new Music Room, IT suite, & Technology/Science facilities.
Year 1 to Year 3 have enjoyed their introduction to Rugby and have been making excellent progress with their passing skills. They improved their five-times tables by counting their scores, while scoring five point tries.
As part of our Science topic in Year 2, we are talking about healthy foods. Nurse Willis came to talk to us about how important healthy foods are for our health. We learnt that while it is alright to have unhealthy foods as a treat now and again, we should eat healthy foods every day. We also learnt about somel medicines and how important it is to keep them in a safe place.
In 2012 the Chinese are celebrating the year of the Dragon.
In Transition we made New Year cards for our families and collaged gold and red dragons. We know that these 2 colours are very lucky! We made red Chinese lanterns as people go out at night with them and celebrate.
We sampled some noodles too! As you can see, we didn't use knives and forks. We used chopsticks and our teachers were very impressed with the way we used them.

Jibraan and Haider, pupils in Year 1 at Highclare School, Woodfield, visited Highclare Nursery last week.
They delighted Nursery staff and children when they gave a talk about their Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
Pupils from Kindergarten, Transition and Reception enjoyed a special Eid assembly on Friday.

Our first School Council meeting of the year has taken place. The School Council agreed that the school Libraries and the outdoor play equipment should be their focus this term.
