Economic Well Being, Life Skills and Money Week

Our Every Child Matters Themed Week was a great success. We based it around life skills, economic well being and money. The children were involved in a range of activities  run by the staff and parent volunteers.  They had a thoroughly enjoyable time. A few highlights included the children from Pre-School creating  a money trail, posting a letter and learning about road safety. Key Stage 1 baked biscuits and bought items from a shop.

Harvest Festival ~ Year 2

The children performed their Harvest Assembly to parents of Kindergarten to J2 recently.   Many thanks to all parents and friends for all the kind donations of food which will be sent to the Birmingham Homeless.

For many of the children, this was the first time they have taken part in a school assembly and all the staff in Pre-school are very proud of their fantastic performance.

All the children learnt the words and actions to the song “Big Red Combine Harvester” and in the classroom they modelled a combine harvester, learning about their uses at harvest time.

Fruity Friday

The children in Pre-school and Infants at Highclare School, St Paul's started the day full of energy on our first Fruit and Fitness Friday of the term.

Teachers led us through some dances that Dance Club had been practising, and some parents and staff joined in too.

A tuck shop selling all kinds of delicious fruit at snack time was a great opportunity for children to try different fruits and experience handling money.

We look forward to the next Fruit and Fitness Friday later in the term!

New Beginnings fun in Assembly

Andi Markham from KIDS UK, helped by his puppet Jack and his associate King Darius (Sam,) came in to assembly on Monday.

They talked about New Beginnings with the children which covers the 'Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning' (SEAL) programme for this half term.
