The main purpose of our Parent Teacher Association is to promote fundraising and social interaction across the school's three sites. For those parents new to the school, Highclare has an active PTA, which prides itself in the support it gives to the school. We have a committee that meets once a month to organise the various events and a number of parents who offer their help at the functions such as the Christmas Fayre. The PTA is also well supported by members of the staff who help in the running of the regular discos and functions that we hold.
The PTA has aimed to raise money to help with new video equipment and playground resources, for all three Highclare School sites and this has been achieved by holding many varied activities, including children's discos, dinners and dances, a family quiz night, school fayres and a theatre trip.
Details of the current PTA programme and booking forms are to be found in the parents section of this web-site on the "messages and PTA" page. Should you require any details about the PTA or how you could become a Friend of the PTA and help at the major functions, please email Tracie Bedwood, via the pta email: pta@highclareschool.co.uk

The Quiz night at St Paul’s was a huge success. We all got very competitive and the Fish ‘N’ Chip Supper went down a treat. Jon, The Quiz Master, put together some very challenging questions. The Quiz was won by the ‘Slightly Foxed’ team. They were on a winning streak that night, as they also won 2 of the raffle prizes!
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the evening.
The Christmas Discos were a huge success and the Senior Boys and Girls really enjoyed their first ever Senior Disco.
Thank you to everyone that volunteered to help out on the night at each site and helped towards making the event successful.
This year the Highclare PTA Summer Fete was held at Highclare Woodfield, with a Carnival theme. The children enjoyed lots of activities and Mums and Dads, Grandparents and friends all joined in the fun.
Strong competition and a keen sense of fun prevailed at our recent Quiz Night, held in the Gym at Sutton Road site. A great evening of fun and fellowship ended with a handsome profit for PTA funds and a very excited winning team.
Parents: please check the parents' section for details
We have already raised a substantial amount towards this from The Summer Ball, Bonfire Night, The Christmas Fayre, Christmas Discos and the PTA Quiz Night. With all the other events that we have planned between now and December 2012 we feel that this target is achievable, with the continued support of all the pupils and parents.
The PTA team is growing and we have lots of ideas buzzing around at the moment for exciting events that we are planning. We would welcome any new parents on board so if you have some ideas for fundraising events please get in touch. We are a very friendly, welcoming committee and we do have fun planning and attending the events.
So far we have booked in The Summer Fair, Gig Night for the Seniors, School Ball and many more. We will be publishing Events and Dates on the Website and in the Newsletter after half term.
We will be placing Target Boards in Woodfield, St Paul’s and the Abbey and on the website, so you can keep an eye on how much we are raising towards our £20,000 Target.
