L5 OUTWARD BOUND 2012

Outward Bound

In April, The L5 enjoyed a fantastic but somewhat damp expedition to Pensarn in Wales. They tackled a range of challenging activities from gorge walking, rock climbing and kayaking to a rather damp overnight camp! The students rose to every challenge and were a credit to the school with their positive attitude and determination to support one another throughout the trip.

Well done!

U3 TRIP TO CALAIS 2012

U3 Calais Trip

We left school at 4.00 am and after a journey through the Channel Tunnel, we arrived in France at about 10.30 am. Following a walk around the market and a chance to speak in French to the locals, we went on to Calais Plage, where a few of the braver students paddled in the sea and ate ice cream! The rest of the boys and girls played frisbie and football on the sand. We all had a most enjoyable day.

A big thank you to all the parents who had to get up early to make the day possible; we do appreciate it.  Merc beaucoup!

SKI TRIP  2012

Ski Trip 2012

This year's ski trip to Wagrain in Austria was a great success.

The students and teachers returned to school safely, having spent half term on the slopes in fabulously snowy conditions. For many of the group it was their first experience of skiing.

ANNUAL SPEECH DAY 2011

 speech night

Senior Speech Night was a huge success. Our guest speaker, Mrs Kym Jones, a former pupil of Highclare spoke with real passion and enthusiasm about her role as a Landscape Architect.

The Senior School Choirs gave an excellent rendition of “Adiemus” by Karl Jenkins which raised the roof at the end of the evening.  The pupils were a credit to the school and to their parents and we were very proud of them all.

As this academic year leads us towards the Olympic Games being held in London it seems fitting that, in the true spirit of the Olympic movement, our pupils will be ‘Going for Gold’.
