Autumn Term Open Events

Posted: 9th September 2020

Sadly we are unable to hold our Open Day events during September and October due to the Government restrictions in place in respect of Covid-19.  We do look forward to hosting a number of virtual live Open Days for those interested in joining Highclare School.

Each virtual event will include a live welcome and introduction by Dr Luker our Headmaster, presentations from the Head of School and a live Q&A session with staff and pupils. We received an abundance of positive feedback following the  virtual events held during the Summer Term and we do look forward to ‘welcoming’ you.

Complementing our virtual activities Highclare School feels confident to offer an opportunity for families to see our School in action through personal tours.

Due to the current guidance around social distancing all School tours must be pre-booked via our admissions team, are limited to 4 people per family and will last for around 45 minutes. Social distancing measures will be observed during tours and we ask that visitors over the age of 11 wear a face covering in corridors during their visit. We also ask that visitors arrive for their tour promptly to provide us with sufficient time to clean our reception space between appointments. If anyone in your household displays symptoms of Covid-19 please contact us to rearrange your tour.

To book a place for any of our Autumn Term events, please confirm your interest with our admissions team via email:

GCSE Results

This year Highclare students have once again produced outstanding GCSE results.  Nearly one third of all grades were at the highest level of 7 and above and our overall pass rate was 92%, all of which are significantly above the national figures of 22% and 68% respectively.

Half of all grades were 6 and above and 98% of our full-time students achieved 5 of more GCSE passes. Having scored particularly excellent grades in Science and Maths, we are welcoming 4 students onto our Pre-Med scholarship program, designed to support students with medicine-related university applications.

Nearly 10% of our cohort have achieved 8 or more GCSEs at the top grades of 7 or above (or 35% achieved 7 or more GCSEs at the top grades of 6 or above).
