House Event Day

Posted: 7th July 2022

The end of a school term always provides plenty of exciting opportunities for pupils to try something new or spend time not according to the usual timetable. This year at the senior school our pupils took part in a house activity day themed around the upcoming commonwealth games. This involved a day full of activities inside and outside of the classroom, all in competition with the other houses at school.

One such event was the Art and design house challenge where students in Art & Design were challenged to create a stop-motion animation on the theme of the Commonwealth Games. Congratulations to all groups for your super animations, especially Lancaster House who won the competition!

Our entire school came together at lunch time to celebrate the Commonwealth Games with a BBQ and picnic outside in our stunning school gardens.

GCSE Results

This year Highclare students have once again produced outstanding GCSE results.  Nearly one third of all grades were at the highest level of 7 and above and our overall pass rate was 92%, all of which are significantly above the national figures of 22% and 68% respectively.

Half of all grades were 6 and above and 98% of our full-time students achieved 5 of more GCSE passes. Having scored particularly excellent grades in Science and Maths, we are welcoming 4 students onto our Pre-Med scholarship program, designed to support students with medicine-related university applications.

Nearly 10% of our cohort have achieved 8 or more GCSEs at the top grades of 7 or above (or 35% achieved 7 or more GCSEs at the top grades of 6 or above).
